Founded in 1996 by Helen Bradbury and Richard Arnesen, Stone House Development is a Madison based full-service development company specializing in affordable and market rate multifamily housing. Stone House is also the long-term manager of all the properties it develops. Our portfolio currently consists of 1000+ affordable and 600 market rate apartments. Stone House has been recognized on a City, state and federal level in its achievements in creating high quality, sustainable housing, both market rate and affordable.

Threshold Development

Threshold Development Group is a second generation development company with 40+ years experience developing in Madison, Wisconsin. Specializing in urban infill, mixed-use multifamily development, founder Joe Krupp was instrumental in the revival of the Schenk’s Atwook and Basset neighborhoods.

Threshold effectively orchestrstes a network of established long term partners to navigate complex processes, striving to work at the edge of what is possible, beautiful, and good.

Affordable Housing

There is a widely recognized shortage of affordable housing in Madison, Wisconsin. Starkweather, LLC. envisions creating a variety of quality affordable housing types on the Voit Site.

Here are a few paths to achieving this goal:

High density Section 42 affordable and workforce rental housing serving residents with incomes ranging from 30% to 80% county median income. It is our desire to have around 20% of the total rental units fall within this income range. This is a housing type Stone House specializes in.
We have heard from the community there is a desire for owner-occupied affordable housing as well as permanently affordable housing. Starkweather intends to work with area non-profits to accomplish these goals.
